Sacred Blessing - Support Services for the Childbearing Year
About Courtney
My birthing belief is rooted in my ever-exanding awareness that birth is a natural, normal and absolutely sacred experience for women and babies. There is a lot of information out there about the "normal" or standard process of birth, however, each birth is unique in its own perfect unfolding. We must simply learn to work with what we are given in labor without judgment, with total trust.

I see myself as an honored holder of the birthing space. I bring my faith and beliefs to help reinforce, support, and validate the laboring mother. It is with complete gratitude and honor that I give my presence.

My professional training is varied, and consists of hours of work through the ALACE Childbirth Education Program and doula training through the Life Cycles Center Doula Training Workshop in Buffalo, NY. I also attended Bradley Childbirth Education courses during my own pregnancy.  I birthed my son, Henry Oak, at home in 2008 with the support of my midwives and husband, Mark.  Prior to motherhood, I enjoyed teaching middle school English.  In my spare time, I write poetry, garden, blog, hike, and crawl around on the floor after Henry.
